If you were homeless, could you still pick up chicks? Meet Joe, the homeless Millennial who has mastered the art of getting women to take him home with them. Originally from Boston, Joe, 26, may spend his daylight hours panhandling in Manhattan – making up to $150 on a given day – but his nights are a completely different ballgame. If you don’t think Joe looks homeless, well, that’s only because he’s good at what he does. According to Joe, his only responsibility is to not look homeless. In his mind, his appearance is a survival tactic. Joe spends whatever money he makes on keeping his appearance up, in addition to copious amounts of drugs and booze, with one goal in mind: attract as many girls as possible. For Joe, sleeping with a lady is his only chance at sleeping with a roof over ...

English/Nat For decades homeless people in New York have sought shelter in the maze of railway and subway tunnels that run beneath the city. Their underground existence - one of almost total isolation from the outside world - has become a legend among New Yorkers. Over the years, many have built subterranean homes where they cook, care for pets and work hard to keep out the bitter cold. And they've ignored attempts to shift them. But now, the Amtrack railway company which owns the tunnels has decided it wants the tunnel dwellers out once and for all. Few passers-by ever notice the tunnel dwellers slipping through these gates and descending to their underworld community. New Yorkers know they're there, but few spare them a thought and even fewer have ever encountere...
Created by the U.S. Government, "Survival Under Atomic Attack" explains the dangers of the atomic bomb, the effects of radiation and how to protect oneself if caught in the open or in the home. The film was made in the era before the hydrogen bomb made nuclear survival impossible. Survival Under Atomic Attack was also the title of an official United States government booklet released by the Civil Defense Office. Released at the onset of the Cold War era, the book and pamphlet were in line with rising fears that the Soviet Union would launch a nuclear attack against the United States, and outlined what to do in the event of an atomic attack. Four of the "myths" examined in the film are: Atomic Weapons Will Not Destroy The Earth Atomic bombs hold more death and destruction than man ever ...

http://www.meetup.com/Functional-Thursday/events/219984096/ Godzilla is attacking New York, and your task is to choose, for each shelter in the city, a nearest shelter to evacuate to. Luckily, distance between shelters is measured by Manhattan length, which allows us to complete the task in O(n log n) time. We present two algorithms: an algorithmic solution that solves the problem by a list-homomorphism, and a data structure based solution that exploits a "thinning" property.
